Trash, Recycling, and
Bulk Trash
Trash - Trash is
picked up twice a week in Brooklyn. Please place your
garbage in secure containers outside after 7:00 pm the evening before
the trash is to be picked up. Trash pickup days in Brooklyn vary
depending upon where you live:
North of Patapsco
- Tuesday
and Friday mornings
South of Patapsco - Wednesday and Saturday mornings
Recycling -
Bottles and cans are picked up on the second and fourth Monday of every
month. Rinse bottles and dispose of caps. Place bottles and cans
to be recycled in blue plastic
bags. Paper is picked up on the second and fourth Tuesday of every
month. Place recycling in the same area where you put your
trash for pickup.
Bulk Trash - Did you know that the City will
pick up your bulk trash for FREE! Please do not place large items such
as couches, mattresses, old appliances, and other furniture in the alleys.
Call the City's "311" line or access their website by clicking
here and indicate that you have bulk trash for pick up. The
City picks
up bulk trash in Brooklyn on the first Monday of every month, and you'll need to notify
them at least three days in advance that you have bulk trash, so prepare
accordingly.
