About Brooklyn

Brooklyn is a "small town" in the great City of Baltimore and remains one of the City's best kept secrets.  We are a neighborhood that is grounded in its working class roots yet offers a hospitable and pleasant home to individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds.  Located on the southside of the Baltimore harbor, Brooklyn is easily accessible from Potee and Hanover Streets heading south out of the City just before crossing into Anne Arundel County.

We have a wide variety of housing stock available from small to large traditional Baltimore rowhomes to single family homes with spacious backyards.  There is ample, free street parking available in both our housing and business districts.  The business district is located along Hanover Street and Patapsco Avenue and offers a range of restaurant, night clubs, and other service-oriented stores.  The Brooklyn business district is home to many sports-based businesses that specialize in areas such as golf, fishing and hunting, archery and bowling and other athletic activities.  The John R. Hargrove, Sr. District Court Building is also located in Brooklyn on Patapsco Avenue.

Brooklyn offers easy access to major highways - there is an entrance ramp to 895 in Brooklyn and access to the 95, 695 and 295 highways are within a five minute drive.  It is also a 10-minute drive from the Baltimore-Washington International Airport, and the Amtrak and MARC Train Stations located at the airport.  Washington, DC is a short 40 minute car ride or 25 minute express train ride.  It is on major City bus routes and accessible by the Light Rail.

We have several large parks and playgrounds available for use, public and private schools, numerous faith-based organizations, and a branch of the Enoch Pratt Free Library.
